About the Little Red
Shop Museum
The Little Red Shop Museum (LRSM) is a local
government controlled non-profit organization with the mission to
preserve and maintain the town’s oldest industrial building, display
the town’s artifacts and exhibit the textile industry’s largest loom
manufacturer’s products.
It is a primary goal of the LSRM to preserve
the cultural and academic form of the history of Hopedale’s Utopian
community and Draper Corporation/textile industry for local
residents, tourists and school children and to provide a world-class
history of Draper Corporation’s products and role in the textile
industry.
We will achieve this by operating a facility
that boasts being the original Draper building, known as the Little
Red Shop, which has been moved three times and preserved for
history.
As a non-profit venture, the LRSM will operate
through the support of the town of Hopedale, Friends of Historic
Hopedale, our visiting patrons, gift shop, as well as the generous
contributions of local businesses, individuals and foundations.
